Getting involved in the fight for our civil liberties

Almost every day across the state of Vermont, we are called on to defend all the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution. This is an especially important time for freedom-loving people to get involved with the ACLU-VT and our valiant work to protect civil liberties.

Tap into your personal power and help us in this fight to defend the rights of each of us. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Join the Action Team

The ACLU of Vermont Action Team is powered by people who volunteer from across the state who are committed to protecting and expanding civil rights & liberties. Action Team members are given the tools and support to engage in opportunities such as tabling at events, hosting letter writing parties, being a social media ambassador, and much more.

Donate

At the ACLU of Vermont, we work hard to defend civil liberties, and we need your financial support to keep us going. Consider donating at whatever level you can, whether it is a monthly donation or a one-time gift. If donations are not an option right now for you, there are other things you can do that support our work just as much!

Get to know your local officials

We have the power and opportunity to hold local officials accountable when they are moving forward in ways that weaken or infringe on our civil liberties. Knowing who they are and what they are advocating is the first step to this and is an important reason to get involved. Consult your local town/city clerk's office or the Secretary of State's office for more information about who represents you at the local, county, and state level.
